Anne S. Meyer

Technical University of Denmark (DTU)

Dr. Anne Meyer is a Professor and Head of the Section on Protein Chemistry and Enzyme Technology at the DTU, Technical University of Denmark. She has been a Professor since 2006 and also was a Visiting Professor at the University of Melbourne in Australia between 2017 and 2019. She has supervised more than 65 Ph.D. students and is Editor of several international journals: Biotechnology Advances, Enzyme and Microbial Technology and the Annual Review in Food Science and Technology.


Dr. Meyer is a recognized world leader in her field with more than 400 peer reviewed articles and more than 20,000 citations. In the last few years she has carried out pioneering work in the use of Enzymes for the degradation of plastics. In particular she has developed totally new insights into the significance of PET crystallinity and the development of new assay methods.


She obtained a Ph.D. in Enzyme Technology from DTU in Denmark, An M.Sc. in Biotechnology from the University of Reading, U.K. and an M.Sc. in Food Technology from the University of Copenhagen.
